Zaza Khintibidze
Zaza Khintibidze was born in 1963. In 1985 he graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (the Faculty of Philology). In 1988 Zaza Khintibidze defended his candidate dissertation entitled “The Principles of Structural Symmetry in the Composition of the Books of the Iliad”. In 2006 he defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Homer and Rustveli. Homeic Principles of Compositional Organization and the Epic Tradition”. In 1989 Zaza Khintibidze started teaching at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. At the present time he is an associate professor at the Faculty of the Humanities at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. He is the author of several monographs, books and text-books. He has published almost 30 scholarly works. Major scholarly interests: classical philology (the history of ancient literature), Rustvelology, comparative literary studies, the methodology of teaching Georgian to foreigners.
